HOW TO USE GUIDE PDF
Verticillium lecanii is a dual-action entomopathogenic fungus used as a bio-insecticide and bio-fungicide. It parasitizes insect pests via cuticle penetration and suppresses fungal pathogens through mycoparasitism. Formulated at 2 × 10⁸ CFU/g on a talc carrier, it targets soft-bodied arthropods and powdery mildews in integrated pest management (IPM) systems.
Product Specifications
- CFU: 2 × 10⁸ CFU/g
- Active Content: Fungal spores and mycelium of Verticillium lecanii
- Carrier: Talc powder (enhances adhesion and dispersion)
Usage Instructions
- Dosage: 500 g–1 kg/acre in 200 L water for foliar/soil application.
- Timing: Apply early morning/evening; avoid temperatures >30°C or <15°C.
- Targets:
Insects: Aphis gossypii (cotton aphid), Bemisia tabaci (whitefly), Trialeurodes vaporariorum (greenhouse whitefly), Planococcus citri (citrus mealybug)
Fungi: Oidium spp. (powdery mildew), Sphaerotheca pannosa (rose powdery mildew)
- Method: Spray foliage uniformly (underside focus for pests); drench soil for root-zone protection.
- Frequency: Apply every 7–10 days during outbreaks; reapply after rain.
- Compatibility: Do not mix with chemical fungicides; compatible with Bacillus thuringiensis.
- Activation: Requires >85% humidity for 6–8 hours for spore germination.
- Safety: Safe for plants, predators (Chrysoperla carnea), and pollinators.
Suitable Crops
- Vegetables: Cucumber, tomato, pepper, beans (controls aphids/powdery mildew)
- Fruits: Grapes, strawberries, citrus, apples (vs. whitefly/mildew)
- Ornamentals: Roses, chrysanthemums (vs. Sphaerotheca pannosa)
- Plantations: Coffee (vs. Planococcus citri), tea (vs. Oidium heveae)
- Protected Cultivation: Greenhouses (high humidity enhances efficacy)
Storage Instructions
- Temperature: 10–25°C (avoid freezing or >28°C).
- Packaging: PP Bags
- Shelf Life: 24 months from manufacture.
- Precautions: Store away from moisture sources; do not expose to direct sunlight.
Key Advantage
Dual-Pest Suppression:
Simultaneously controls resistant sap-sucking insects (Bemisia tabaci MEAM1) and fungal pathogens (Podosphaera xanthii in cucurbits) through enzymatic degradation (chitinases/proteases) and mycelial overgrowth.
