Application Method – Fermentation Process

Step 1 – Prepare Microbial Solution

Mix the following ingredients in a clean plastic drum:

• Arecanut Husk Decomposer – 1 kg
• Jaggery – 1 kg
• Besan Flour – 500 g
• Clean Water – 200 Litres

Mix thoroughly.

Step 2 – Fermentation

Allow the mixture to ferment for 3–4 days in a shaded location.

Stir periodically and keep the container loosely covered.

Step 3 – Pre-Moisten Arecanut Husks

Thoroughly moisten the arecanut husks with water before applying the decomposer.

Proper moisture is essential for microbial activity and effective decomposition.

Step 4 – Spray Fermented Solution

Spray the prepared microbial solution uniformly over the pre-moistened arecanut husks.

Ensure complete coverage by applying the solution layer by layer.

Step 5 – Regular Turning

Turning of the material is necessary for effective decomposition.

Regular turning helps improve aeration, distribute microorganisms, maintain uniform moisture and promote faster decomposition.

Step 6 – Maintain Moisture

Keep the composting material consistently moist throughout the decomposition period.

Continue turning periodically until the husks are adequately decomposed.
