Trichoderma for Chickpea Wilt Management in Jharkhand | Biological Biofungicide Supplier India

Chickpea, also known as gram or chana, is an important Rabi pulse crop cultivated in Jharkhand. Healthy roots and vascular tissues are essential for crop establishment, nutrient uptake, nodulation and productive crop development.
Wilt symptoms in chickpea can be associated with several factors. Fusarium wilt, commonly associated with Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. ciceris, is an important soil-borne disease of chickpea. However, wilting should not automatically be assumed to be Fusarium wilt because similar symptoms can also result from root rots, water stress, poor drainage, root injury, nutrient imbalance and other biological or environmental problems.
Trichoderma spp., including Trichoderma viride, Trichoderma harzianum and Trichoderma asperellum, can be incorporated into an Integrated Disease Management (IDM) program for chickpea root-zone and soil-borne disease management.
Trichoderma for Chickpea Root-Zone Management
Trichoderma consists of beneficial fungi capable of establishing in suitable soil and rhizosphere environments.
The chickpea rhizosphere is an important biological zone surrounding the developing roots. Introducing viable Trichoderma into this area can support beneficial microbial activity and biological competition within the root-zone environment.
Trichoderma should be considered a component of a broader root-health strategy rather than a stand-alone cure for every wilt problem.
Trichoderma with Pseudomonas & Bacillus
For broader microbial root-zone management, Pseudomonas fluorescens and Bacillus subtilis may also be considered separately where appropriate.
Each microorganism has different biological characteristics, so combinations should be based on formulation compatibility and the target crop-management objective.
Rhizobium & Nutrient Management
Trichoderma is primarily used as a biological root and soil-health microorganism rather than as the main nitrogen biofertilizer for chickpea.
For nutrient management, a compatible Rhizobium inoculant can be used to support root nodulation and biological nitrogen fixation.
PSB can complement the program by supporting phosphorus mobilization, while KMB can be incorporated for potassium mobilization where appropriate.
Integrated Chickpea Wilt Management
A comprehensive chickpea wilt-management strategy can include correct diagnosis, healthy seed, microbial seed treatment where appropriate, crop rotation, soil-health management, organic matter, suitable irrigation, drainage, balanced nutrition, sanitation and regular crop monitoring.
No single biological input should be expected to compensate for severe soil, irrigation, seed or disease-management problems.
Peak Laboratories manufactures and supplies Trichoderma viride, Trichoderma harzianum and other beneficial microbial agricultural formulations in suitable liquid and powder forms.
Products are available for chickpea farmers, gram growers, chana growers, FPOs, farmer groups, agricultural dealers, distributors, commercial farms, institutional buyers and bulk buyers throughout Jharkhand and India.
