Rhizobium Biofertilizer for Pea Cultivation in Himachal Pradesh | Nitrogen-Fixing Bacteria Supplier India
Share
Pea is an important leguminous vegetable crop cultivated in the cool and temperate growing regions of Himachal Pradesh. Because pea belongs to the legume family, it can develop a beneficial symbiotic association with compatible Rhizobium bacteria.
Rhizobium biofertilizer is used as a microbial inoculant in legume cultivation to support the establishment of effective root nodules and symbiotic biological nitrogen fixation.
After compatible Rhizobium bacteria establish around young pea roots, they can enter into a symbiotic relationship with the plant and contribute to the development of specialized structures known as root nodules.
Within functional nodules, Rhizobium bacteria convert atmospheric nitrogen into biologically usable nitrogen compounds that can contribute to the crop's nitrogen nutrition.
This biological process makes Rhizobium particularly relevant to Integrated Nutrient Management (INM) programs for pea and other compatible leguminous crops.
However, Rhizobium is not a universal culture that performs equally across every legume. Effective inoculation requires an appropriate Rhizobium strain compatible with pea and a viable microbial formulation.
Where chemical seed treatments are also required, growers should check their compatibility with Rhizobium. Direct contact with certain fungicides, bactericides, disinfectants or other antimicrobial seed-treatment chemicals may reduce the viability of live bacterial inoculants.
Application sequence and timing should therefore follow the microbial product label and appropriate agronomic recommendations.
Rhizobium performance is also linked to overall soil fertility. Adequate phosphorus, potassium, sulphur and micronutrient availability can be important in a balanced legume nutrition program.
Phosphate Solubilizing Bacteria (PSB) may be incorporated separately to support phosphorus mobilization, while Potassium Mobilizing Bacteria (KMB) can support potassium mobilization within the rhizosphere.
For broader pea root and soil-health management, microorganisms such as Trichoderma spp., Pseudomonas fluorescens and Bacillus subtilis may be incorporated separately where appropriate and compatible.
A comprehensive pea cultivation program should combine Rhizobium inoculation with quality seed, suitable soil moisture, balanced crop nutrition, organic matter, good drainage, crop rotation and appropriate crop-protection practices.
Peak Laboratories manufactures and supplies Rhizobium microbial biofertilizer formulations for agricultural and commercial requirements.
Products are available for pea farmers, legume growers, commercial vegetable farms, FPOs, farmer groups, agricultural dealers, distributors, institutional buyers and bulk buyers throughout Himachal Pradesh and India.
