Protect Your Paddy from Sheath Blight and Stem Rot with Trichoderma Seed Treatment

Kuttanad farmers know the pain of sheath blight (Rhizoctonia solani) and stem rot (Sclerotium oryzae). What the science says:
Research has identified Trichoderma asperellum as a highly effective isolate against both R. solani and S. oryzae. The KAU Agri Infotech Portal recommends seed treatment with Trichoderma harzianum @ 10g/kg of seed as part of an integrated disease management strategy for rice.
How to apply Trichoderma for paddy (per acre):
Seed treatment (most important step):

Take 100g of Bactostore’s Trichoderma powder (or 100 ml liquid).

Mix with enough water to coat 10 kg of paddy seeds.

Stir the seeds until each seed is evenly coated.

Shade dry for 30 minutes before sowing.
For fields with a known disease history (soil application):

Mix 1‑2 kg of Trichoderma powder (or 1‑2 litres liquid) with 100‑200 kg well‑decomposed FYM.

Broadcast this mixture evenly during the last ploughing and incorporate into the soil.
Why this works:
Trichoderma colonises the seed surface and later the root zone. It creates a protective shield against Rhizoctonia and Sclerotium, resulting in stronger stems, fewer lesions, and a much higher yield.
