Trichoderma for Tomato Wilt Management in Jharkhand | Biological Biofungicide Supplier India
Share
Tomato is an important commercial vegetable crop cultivated in Ranchi and other agricultural regions of Jharkhand. Wilt and root-zone disorders can significantly affect tomato establishment and plant health, particularly where susceptible soil-borne pathogens, poor drainage, infected planting material or unfavorable root-zone conditions are present.
Beneficial fungi such as Trichoderma viride, Trichoderma harzianum and Trichoderma asperellum can be incorporated into an Integrated Disease Management (IDM) program for biological management of certain susceptible soil-borne fungal pathogens associated with tomato wilt and root problems.
Trichoderma for Tomato Wilt Management
Trichoderma spp. are beneficial fungi widely incorporated into biological soil and root-health programs.
When viable Trichoderma propagules establish in the rhizosphere, they can interact with other microorganisms around developing tomato roots.
Selected strains may contribute to biological suppression of certain susceptible soil fungi through multiple mechanisms.
Trichoderma should be used as one component of an integrated tomato wilt-management strategy rather than as a guaranteed cure for severely affected plants.
Fusarium Wilt in Tomato
Tomato Fusarium wilt is associated with Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. lycopersici, a soil-borne fungal pathogen capable of infecting susceptible tomato plants.
Symptoms can include progressive yellowing, wilting and plant decline.
However, visual wilting alone does not confirm Fusarium wilt because several biological and environmental problems can produce similar symptoms.
Correct diagnosis is therefore important before selecting a disease-management program.
Trichoderma with Pseudomonas & Bacillus
Other beneficial microorganisms such as Pseudomonas fluorescens and Bacillus subtilis may also be incorporated separately into integrated tomato root and disease-management programs.
These microorganisms have different biological characteristics and should be selected according to the target problem and formulation compatibility.
Peak Laboratories manufactures and supplies Trichoderma viride, Trichoderma harzianum and other beneficial microbial formulations in suitable liquid and powder forms for agricultural use.
Products are available for tomato farmers in Ranchi and Jharkhand, vegetable growers, FPOs, farmer groups, agricultural dealers, distributors, commercial farms, institutional buyers and bulk buyers throughout India.
