Trichoderma for Rice Soil-Borne Disease Management in Jharkhand | Biological Biofungicide Supplier India

Rice is one of the major crops cultivated across Jharkhand under rainfed, lowland and irrigated production systems. Maintaining a healthy root zone and biologically active soil is important for crop establishment, nutrient uptake and overall paddy crop management.
Rice fields can experience different root- and soil-associated disease problems depending on the pathogen, crop stage, soil conditions, water management, weather and previous cropping history.
Trichoderma spp. are beneficial fungi widely used as microbial biofungicides and soil-health microorganisms in integrated management programs for susceptible soil-associated fungal pathogens.
Important agricultural species include Trichoderma viride, Trichoderma harzianum and Trichoderma asperellum.
How Trichoderma Works in the Rice Root Zone
Trichoderma can establish in suitable soil and rhizosphere environments around developing plant roots.
Selected strains can compete with certain soil-associated fungi for nutrients and colonization sites. They may also produce biologically active enzymes and metabolites and participate in mycoparasitic interactions with susceptible fungi.
These multiple biological mechanisms make Trichoderma useful as one component of an Integrated Disease Management (IDM) strategy rather than as a universal treatment for every rice disease.
Trichoderma for Rice Soil-Borne Disease Programs
Trichoderma is primarily relevant where disease pressure is associated with susceptible fungi occurring in the soil, crop residue, nursery environment or root zone.
Rice symptoms such as poor seedling establishment, root deterioration, discoloration, yellowing, stunting or plant decline should not automatically be attributed to a single fungal pathogen.
Similar symptoms may result from fungal or oomycete pathogens, bacterial diseases, nutrient deficiencies, waterlogging, chemical injury, salinity, poor root aeration or other environmental stresses.
Correct diagnosis is therefore important before developing a microbial disease-management program.
Integrated Rice Disease Management
Trichoderma works best as part of an integrated approach.
Rice farmers should combine microbial inputs with quality seed, nursery sanitation, balanced crop nutrition, appropriate planting density, water management, field sanitation, crop-residue management, regular scouting and correct disease diagnosis.
For broader biological crop-management programs, beneficial bacteria such as Pseudomonas fluorescens and Bacillus subtilis may also be incorporated separately where appropriate.
Nutrient-focused microorganisms such as Azospirillum, PSB, KMB, ZSB and NPK microbial consortium can be used separately within an integrated nutrient-management program.
Peak Laboratories manufactures and supplies Trichoderma viride, Trichoderma harzianum and other beneficial microbial agricultural formulations in suitable liquid and powder forms.
Products are available for paddy farmers, rice growers, FPOs, farmer groups, agricultural dealers, distributors, institutional buyers and bulk buyers throughout Jharkhand and India.
