Biological Disease Management for Polyhouse Capsicum in Himachal Pradesh | Trichoderma, Pseudomonas & Bacillus Supplier India

Capsicum is an important high-value vegetable crop grown under polyhouse and protected cultivation systems in Himachal Pradesh. Protected structures provide greater control over irrigation, nutrition and the growing environment, but intensive cultivation can also create conditions favorable for certain root, soil and foliar disease problems if moisture, sanitation and ventilation are not managed properly.
A biological disease-management program for polyhouse capsicum can incorporate beneficial microorganisms such as Trichoderma spp., Pseudomonas fluorescens and Bacillus subtilis alongside good crop-management practices.
These microorganisms have different biological characteristics and should be selected according to the crop problem, formulation, application method and registered product recommendations.
Trichoderma viride, Trichoderma harzianum and Trichoderma asperellum are beneficial fungi commonly used in root-zone and soil-health programs. Trichoderma can colonize suitable rhizosphere environments and compete with certain soil-associated fungi for nutrients and colonization sites.
Selected Trichoderma strains can also produce biologically active enzymes and metabolites and participate in mycoparasitic interactions with susceptible fungi. These mechanisms make Trichoderma useful as a component of integrated management programs for susceptible soil-borne fungal disease pressure.
Pseudomonas fluorescens is a beneficial rhizobacterium used in biological crop-health and rhizosphere-management programs. It can establish around suitable root environments and compete with undesirable microorganisms for nutrients and colonization sites.
Selected Pseudomonas fluorescens strains can produce compounds such as siderophores and other biologically active metabolites. It can therefore be incorporated into an integrated microbial program for capsicum root and crop health.
Bacillus subtilis is another beneficial bacterium used in microbial crop-protection programs. Selected strains can colonize suitable crop environments, compete with certain undesirable microorganisms and produce biologically active compounds.
Using multiple beneficial microorganisms does not mean that all products should automatically be mixed in one tank. Microbial compatibility, formulation characteristics and application timing should be considered before combining Trichoderma, Pseudomonas, Bacillus or other agricultural inputs.
For polyhouse capsicum, biological products may be introduced through nursery or transplant-zone applications, soil application, compost or organic-matter enrichment, root-zone drenching and compatible irrigation systems, depending on the individual product label.
Good drainage, irrigation scheduling and root-zone aeration therefore remain essential even when microbial biofungicides are being used.
Biological disease management works best as part of an Integrated Disease Management (IDM) program based on preventive practices, regular monitoring and correct diagnosis.
In polyhouse systems, growers should also consider the compatibility of live microorganisms with fungicides, bactericides, disinfectants, strong oxidizing agents, concentrated fertilizers and fertigation chemicals. Suitable application intervals may be required.
For crop nutrition, beneficial microorganisms such as NPK microbial consortium, Azotobacter, PSB, KMB and ZSB may be incorporated separately into the capsicum nutrient-management program.
A comprehensive polyhouse capsicum program should combine microbial crop-protection products with healthy seedlings, nursery sanitation, balanced fertigation, suitable EC and pH management, irrigation scheduling, drainage, ventilation, humidity management, crop sanitation and regular disease monitoring.
Peak Laboratories manufactures and supplies microbial agricultural formulations including Trichoderma spp., Pseudomonas fluorescens, Bacillus subtilis and other beneficial microorganisms in suitable liquid and powder formulations.
Products are available for polyhouse capsicum growers, protected cultivation farms, commercial vegetable growers, FPOs, agricultural dealers, distributors, institutional buyers and bulk buyers throughout Himachal Pradesh and India.
