Better Root Development in Tissue Culture Banana

Tissue culture banana plants require rapid root establishment after transplanting to ensure healthy growth and successful field performance. During the early establishment stage, young plants are particularly vulnerable to soil-borne pathogens and environmental stress. Streptomyces lydicus provides biological protection by colonizing the developing root system and creating a healthy microbial environment that supports rapid root growth.

The beneficial microorganism competes with harmful fungi for nutrients and space while producing natural antimicrobial compounds that suppress disease-causing pathogens. It also promotes healthier feeder root development and improves nutrient uptake efficiency, allowing tissue culture plants to establish more quickly and develop stronger pseudostems.

Applying Streptomyces lydicus during transplanting or shortly after planting helps reduce transplant stress and encourages vigorous early growth. Combined with compost, biofertilizers, balanced irrigation, and proper crop nutrition, it contributes to improved plant survival, uniform field establishment, stronger root systems, and increased productivity throughout the crop cycle.
