Trichoderma for Potato Soil-Borne Disease Management in Himachal Pradesh | Biological Biofungicide Supplier India
ಹಂಚಿ
Potato is an important commercial crop cultivated in suitable temperate and high-altitude regions of Himachal Pradesh. Healthy soil, good drainage, quality planting material and a biologically active root and tuber zone are important components of successful potato production.
Several soil-associated pathogens can contribute to seed-piece decay, poor crop establishment, root damage, stem-base problems and tuber-quality issues. Trichoderma spp. can be incorporated into integrated biological programs designed to support potato root-zone and soil health and help manage pressure from susceptible soil-borne fungi.
Beneficial species such as Trichoderma viride, Trichoderma harzianum and Trichoderma asperellum are widely used as microbial biofungicides and soil-health microorganisms.
After suitable application, Trichoderma can colonize the rhizosphere and compete with certain soil-associated fungi for nutrients and colonization sites. Selected strains can also produce biologically active metabolites and enzymes and participate in mycoparasitic interactions with susceptible fungi.
These biological mechanisms make Trichoderma useful as one component of an Integrated Disease Management (IDM) program for potato.
Depending on the registered formulation and label directions, Trichoderma may be incorporated through planting-material treatment, soil application, compost or farmyard-manure enrichment, root-zone application, soil drenching or suitable irrigation-based application.
Powder formulations can be incorporated with well-decomposed compost or farmyard manure and applied to the soil according to product-label recommendations. Suitable liquid formulations may be used for soil or root-zone applications where permitted.
Placement within the active root and developing tuber-zone soil is important because this is where biological interaction with the potato rhizosphere is most relevant.
Using healthy and suitable planting material, crop rotation, field sanitation, balanced nutrition and appropriate irrigation practices should form the foundation of an integrated potato disease-management program.
Trichoderma can also be incorporated into broader microbial soil programs alongside Pseudomonas fluorescens and Bacillus subtilis where appropriate. NPK microbial consortium, Azotobacter, PSB, KMB and ZSB can be used separately for nutrient and soil-fertility objectives.
When multiple microbial or chemical agricultural inputs are used, compatibility and application timing should be considered. Product-label recommendations should always take priority.
Peak Laboratories manufactures and supplies Trichoderma viride, Trichoderma harzianum and other microbial agricultural formulations in suitable liquid and powder forms.
Products are available for potato farmers, commercial potato growers, farmer groups, FPOs, agricultural dealers, distributors, institutional buyers and bulk buyers throughout Himachal Pradesh and India.
