Cardamom Capsule Rot (Azhukal) – Control with Trichoderma from Bactostore
शेयर करना
Water‑soaked spots on cardamom leaves, rotting capsules with foul smell – that’s Azhukal disease caused by Phytophthora. It spreads fast during Idukki’s heavy monsoon, destroying whole panicles.
The Kerala Agricultural University recommends Trichoderma viride as the most effective eco‑friendly control. Trichoderma colonizes your cardamom roots and attacks the harmful fungi directly – stopping rot before you lose your harvest.
Bactostore Trichoderma – how to use:
-
For soil protection before monsoon: Take 50 g of Bactostore’s talc powder (₹220–380 per kg), mix with 1 kg well‑decomposed cow dung, and apply in each cardamom plant’s basin.
-
For foliar spray during monsoon: Dilute 2 ml of Trichoderma liquid (₹120–400 per litre) in 1 litre of water. Spray on leaves, panicles, and base of the plant. Repeat every 15–20 days.
