Buy Verticillium Lecanii Bio-Insecticide for Black Pepper and Arecanut – Control Thrips, Mealybugs and Scale Insects

Palakkad’s black pepper and arecanut are valuable. But thrips, mealybugs, and scale insects cause serious damage. In pepper, thrips rasp developing berries, causing brown scars that make berries unmarketable. Mealybugs hide in leaf axils and on roots. In arecanut, mealybugs and scale insects colonise fronds, trunk, and root zone, causing yellowing and reduced nut yield. Chemical pesticides often fail due to protective waxy coatings.

Verticillium lecanii bio-insecticide is the effective organic solution.

How to apply Verticillium bio-insecticide on black pepper:

Preventive soil application (twice a year):

  • Take 200‑250g of Bactostore’s Verticillium powder per vine

  • Mix with 20‑25 kg of well‑decomposed FYM

  • Apply in the basin around the vine (15‑20 cm from the trunk) and cover with soil

  • Apply in April‑May (pre‑monsoon) and September‑October (post‑monsoon)

Foliar spray for active infestation:

  • For liquid: Mix 2‑5 ml in 1 litre of water

  • For powder: Mix 5‑10g in 1 litre of water, add a little jaggery for better adhesion

  • Spray on leaves, stems, spikes, and berries every 10‑15 days during flowering
