What is bacterial fertilizer?

What is a bio-fertilizer?
Bio-fertilizer is a natural fertilizer that is made from living microorganisms and makes nutrients in the soil available to plants. These microorganisms increase soil fertility by nitrogen fixation, phosphorus solubility, and decomposition of organic matter.

Features of bacterial fertilizers:
✔ Contains living microorganisms.
✔ Maintains the balance of microorganisms in the soil.
✔ Eco-friendly and are an alternative to chemical fertilizers.
✔ Solubilizes nutrients in the soil and makes them easily available to crops.
✔ Increases soil fertility and productivity.

Types of bacterial fertilizers:
🔹 1. Nitrogen-fixing bacterial fertilizers

These bacteria absorb nitrogen (N₂) from the air and make it available in the soil in a nitrogen-rich form.
Examples: Rhizobium, Azotobacter, Azospirillum, Blue-green algae (BGA)
🔹 2. Organic phosphorus-solubilizing bacteria

These bacteria solubilize the inorganic phosphorus in the soil and make it available to crops.
Examples: Phosphate solubilizing bacteria (PSB), Bacillus, Pseudomonas
🔹 3. Potassium-solubilizing bacteria

These bacteria bring potassium from the soil into a soluble form.
Examples: Frateuria aurantia
🔹 4. Organic matter-decomposing bacteria

Releasing nutrients by decomposing organic matter in the soil.
Examples: Pseudomonas, Trichoderma
Advantages of bacterial fertilizers:
✅ Reduces the use of chemical fertilizers.
✅ Increases soil fertility and nutrients.
✅ Suitable for environmentally friendly and pollution-free agriculture.
✅ Increases the immunity of crops.
✅ Saves on agricultural production costs.

✨ Conclusion:
Biofertilizers make farming more sustainable and profitable by providing nutrients naturally. Biofertilizers are a great alternative to switching to organic farming rather than relying on chemical fertilizers.
